Progress

A couple more studio shots. The upper pic is me trying to select some music...the the two other (truncated) pieces of art here belong to Eric (above) and Dennis (below). I have such talented friends ;)

The photo below is my progress on a portrait of Tywanna -- a badminton mate of mine. It's coming along just fine -- the highly shadowed wall in the background is still evolving...More painting this weekend to flesh it all out.

  1. Your studio is clean compared to mine, that's why I only posted a photo of my palettes. I like how your new painting is progressing from what I can see of it.

  2. Music while you paint is the only way.
    What do you listen to?
Looking forward to seeing the finished painting of Tywanna.

  5. Glimpses of the painting and of your music collection ... mysteries. I do like the shaddows on the wall.

Lately I have been listening to a lot of Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac and I just bought a Door's CD of a concert they did shortly before Morrison died.

The large painting in the background - on previous photo I had thought based on chin it was Obama....

    Is this competitive badmington?

Free association Sunday. Bye, bye, bird...e

  6. Teaching is mostly good. It provides a creative community where an equal exchange of ideas takes place between instructor and student. But give that it's the middle of the year, I'm getting burned out. I'm looking forward to this summer when I'll have time to just make pictures and hang out in the library.

  7. Can I ask a very basic question?

You say you paint mostly in acrylics. What effects are you able to get with acrylics that you might not get with something else, say oils or watercolors?

  8. Hi Tatiana, thanks for taking the time to comment on my blog, Painter. Sorry for the delay in replying but I am still getting to grips with the technology. I didn't even know I had any comments to read until a week or so ago. All the best, Steve Strode.
